Feed the wire into the nail making machine. The wires are clamped by a pair of clamp dies. When the gripper mold holds the wire in place, the free end of the wire is struck by a mechanical hammer that forms the head of the staple.
A set of forming tools strikes the other end of the wire. The cutter forms the tip of the nail while cutting the nail from the rest of the nail. The clamp mold is released and fed forward into the wire for the next nail. The formed nails are then collected in a box.
The gripper mold can be used to make nails such as copper, stainless steel, aluminum, iron, and zinc.
